6 – 8 Friday – Sunday FRIENDLINESS & KINDLINESS AS PATHS OF AWAKENING – John Peacock
For the Buddha, maintaining oneself in right mindfulness is the same as suffusing with universal friendliness. A person who has right mindfulness is a compassionate being, with metta(boundless friendliness) being the dissolution between thinking and feeling. Instead of trying to feel with the head, one begins to learn to think with the heart. As such, the Buddha offers a path to Awakening based on the development of boundless friendliness(metta) and outgoing kindliness(karuna).
This week-end will be devoted to exploring these themes, and the practices associated with the development of both friendliness and kindness. Open to all.
